This victory is for all of us.
Thank you to the volunteers who knocked on doors in the cold and rain, made calls late into the night, talked to their neighbors, their friends, and sometimes complete strangers about what was at stake in this election.
Thank you to the community leaders, my colleagues across government, and the labor unions who lent a hand. But most importantly, thank you to the constituents of District 3.
Our victory is for the workers, the artists, the tenants, the small business owners, and the families who call this district home.
This campaign was never just about one election. It was about the kind of district we want to build together.
A district where working people can afford to stay. Where artists and creatives aren’t pushed out, but lifted up. Where our streets are safe, our subways are reliable, and our neighborhoods are vibrant and inclusive. Where we don’t just talk about equity and justice—we deliver it.
But this is just the beginning. Winning an election is not the finish line. It’s the starting point.
Now the real work begins.
